So this chicken I’m hatching started peeping like 5 hours ago but thwn when I woke up so maybe even longer but it hasn’t really done that much progress it’s alive for sure it is moving but do I need to help?

When did it pip? Usually they'll wait 24hrs before zipping, & hatching.

Some will begin to zip a couple hours after the pip.

If you don't know how to do an assisted hatch, now's the time to read up on it just in case. Look under BYC articles-there as a good article there on assisted hatch.

There are still active veins in those eggs leave them be otherwise there is a good chance they will bleed out if you assist any further. You need to coat that membrane in coconut oil, original plain old Neosporin or Vaseline to prevent it from drying out. The problem with assisting too soon is now the membrane is more exposed to air which can cause it to dry out before they are fully ready to hatch. Always give chicks the full 24 hours before stepping in to hatch unless they pipped at the wrong end or there is some other issue.

Also they are trying to push out already
