Is it too soon?

I am planning on moving my 4 and 5 week old hens out to the hen house tomorrow. The hen house is insulated but has open windows (with wire fencing). The windows will be installed in about a week. Our temps range from 40 - 70 degrees. If we put one heating lamp out there for the 7 chicks and 2 ducks is this enough? Will they be ok?

They should be fine!

I just moved my 3 week old chick outside since we've warmed up and they are loving it. I have a small (25 watt red light bulb) heat lamp out there with them as a "just-in-case", but so far so good!

They will be fine. I did the same with my 4 week olds. They are doing great.

We have similar weather (zone 5), but it's supposed to cool down next week. I thought I'd like to get mine out there at 3 weeks, but I didn't know what a cold snap would do. (no experience here)
