Don't mean to be a downer but I wouldn't get to attached as they usually die from heart attacks do to their size.

Yes the BB, have a hard life if you try to keep one as a pet. Tom get HUGE to heavy for the hens.

Your is only 25 lbs, maybe he is not a BB??
The BB toms get over 50 lbs, to heavy for their legs and can hurt themself coming down from the roost.

Most can NOT breed(toms)
