So in an EE if the rooster had a pea comb is it more than likely to carry the blue egg gene?
What about rose comb...
Someone school me lol.
I'm just learning.
This is my guy and I'd like to hatch out some eggs from our cuckoo Maran or black copper marans..
What color eggs would they lay? Green?

If he has the blue gene and you breed it to a dark egg layer then you get olive eggers. I don't know about combs.

I wonder what he's a dilution with.. he was a rescue from a place where he could barely turn around in a circle because he was kept in such a small pen.
He's not aggressive, gentle with his girls :) , and looks after them like a hawk..

I don't know about combs, but I do know when I get EE chicks, I'll only get blue or green eggs from chicks with slate colored legs. Ones with yellow or white legs will lay a "pink" (aka light brown) egg.

As your boy has yellow legs, I wouldn't expect him to carry the gene
