Hi, I just realized I sing to my chickens. Is this weird or do other people do it too?

Thanks,

actually i read this article don't remb where. It said hens lay better w/ music. I might tryyy it. Plug a radio up in there. lol

it's no more weird to sing (or talk, hum, or whistle) to your chix than it is to sing, talk, hum, or whistle to yourself or anyone else! Every living sentient being enjoys communication of some kind. As long as you enjoy it and they enjoy it (or at least don't respond negatively to it!) go for it and relax in it!

Singing to your chickens is perfectly normal for a chickenlover.

I sing and talk to mine all the time. They talk, or bawk, back to me.

So, for everyone who sings to your chickens...

What do you sing?

Cheers,

(Sung or bokked to the tune of "Luck, Be A Lady Tonight")

They call you chickens, true
But there is room for doubt
At night you have a very un-chicken-like way
Of chickening out.

You're in the coop tonight
Like every night before
Although you're over ten weeks old
You still sleep on the floor!

You might be simple-minded,
You might have lost the way,
And so the best that I can do is... pray.

Please be a chicken tonight.
Please be a chicken tonight.
Sleep on the roost like all the birds that you fit in with
Please be a chicken tonight.

Hens, let a bird owner see
Just how nice of birds you can be
I know you peck and scratch like other birds you've been with,
Please be a chicken for me.

A chicken never sleeps in corners,
It isn't clean, it isn't nice
A chicken doesn't sleep around all over the coop
Attracting the ants and the lice

Let's keep the henhouse polite.
Act like a chicken at night.
Stay on the roost I put you up there to begin with,
Please be a chicken tonight.
