Is it worth becoming a vet tech or a nurse?

I'm an LPN and NOT a people person but all my patients love me because I joke and cut up with them. You get to know them and they're like family so it's not uncomfortable.

Well since I'm a nurse and always want everyone to be a nurse, I would say you have a lot to give people you care for. I know you said your not a people person but you are caring and compassionate because you want to care for animals who cannot care for themselves. So with that said you are a natural NURSE!!

when I started as a vet tech pay was pretty low, minimum wage with a college degree. I have been in the field for over 25yr. I probably make the most of all the vet techs where I now work and the pay is even better in the cities(I don't work where I started out- they payed about 1/2 of what other hospitals in the area did- little did I know). But, I love my job, I love going to work, I love the people I'm around (for the most part) and I enjoy being able to help. I also looked into the human nursing. dr's can be high and mighty and since I'm not really a people person, decided even though I could make more money, it's wasn't worth it.
there are also jobs you can do from home that pay pretty well. medical transcriptionist, medical billing. these are less then 2 yrs of training. don't do it for your DH, would he go out and get a better paying job?? works both ways.
