is it worth it?

I have a small flock of White Leghorns. The boy I bought them from was feeding them just cracked corn and vegetable stand trimmings. But they had no apparent signs of disease or other problem so I brought them home. Put them in a tractor where they got fresh pasture to scratch in every day and a tube feeder full of a good complete ration. They promptly molted and two weeks later started laying large size white eggs everyday like clockwork.

The quarantining part is important.

Good Luck

We just got them and got them settled. I have to get up at 4am and work 12 hours tomorrow and the next day as well, so I will get some pics up as soon as I can, Turned out to be 38 with 3 roo's . All different breeds, gold comets, EE, Some black hens with gold specks in the hackles, and white leghorns, and some black ones with white ears.

I am so glad that you got them, I cant wait to see photos! If we lived out somewhere I would be in SO much trouble with my chicken addiction lol

We have a limit law of 10 here, I have 6 hens, 10 chicks (I am sure some are cockerels) and a broody on eggs lol Yep I have a problem lol lol

Congrats! I'm so glad you got them. Those poor things being fed nothing but bread - shameful! I'm sure you'll have them appropriately spoiled in no time!
