I am wondering if I made a mistake. i bought an incubator ( used a home made for a year or so and thought I would up grade)

but i starting buying eggs on e-bay and it became addictive, so I have ended up with 18 copper marans, 6 ducks, 9 banties, one goose and 9 mix breeds from my coop. they all didn't go in the bator at the same time. I have marked the calendar for the 21, 28 & 30 day marks for my different eggs.

I wasn't really thinking about the turning and the stop turning, the increasing the humidity in the last days.

the hatch time are spread out over a week and a half for the ducks and chick with the ducks in the middle and the goose at the end.

i'm thinking that if the mostly all hatch my problems will be housing them seperatly because of the age difference there will be size difference and i don't want a bunch o f bullies

i think next time I'll stick to one batch and type.

If I remember right, duck and goose eggs like the humidity high anyway. If your chicken eggs are hatching first, the higher humidity at lock down won't be a problem for the other eggs. Sounds like you got your hands full on this hatch. I hope another comes along that knows more about ducks and geese. Kathy's idea of useing the other incubator as a hatcher would simplify things a bit for ya. Best of luck to you.

Yeah, keeping the homemade bator would have been a good idea, cept wife wanted a cleaned out garage so she could park her car, the homemade bator went to the curb.

I did the same thing (addicted to buying eggs!) so I bought a cheap LG for a hatcher. Now I can have staggered hatches.
