Is Julep Actually a Pekin?

I find I can't anymore. I prop them up on my head when I'm on my phone. I need new bifocals.

Mine are 'progressive' lens. Essentially bifocals but without the two different areas.

I'll wear mine to drive, and if it's getting dark out. Otherwise, although I try to deny the blurriness around the edges.

I am NOT getting old!

How much does she weigh?

There are duclairs, which are 5-6 lbs. That could be a possibility.

There are white layers which are even smaller. They are about 4.5 to under 6 lbs

The Pekins are usually 9-10 lbs. Mine is just under 9 lbs, or at least she was.

It is also possible you just have a small Pekin. I have a few ducks that are smaller than their breed should be.

Last time I weighed her, she was just over 8, so I'm guessing she's on the small side of Pekins, and Peanut is on the large side for Saxony.

My largest Saxony female is 8lbs and bigger than my Saxony drake. It sounds like you have a big Saxony girl and slightly small Pekin.

It's normal for them to get freckles, right? I was looking at pics of Julep when I brought her home, and she doesn't have any then. She's got a bunch now.

Yes, mine had plenty of lovely freckles. Along with frequent vet visits. I don't think I ever asked about the bill freckles, but they never mentioned them either.

Aren't jumbo Pekins even bigger? Or are Saxony just that massive?
