Is laying an egg painfull

I have a hen who sustained a spinal injury last summer , will walk only if she has to but seems pretty content otherwise. we pretty much bring everything to her however recently started laying eggs again. We have vacillated on putting her down, but now i am concerned that the egg laying could be painful and she is laying darn near every day.
Any information would be helpful

I believe laying an egg would be painful. Not trying to gross Anyone out but it’s just like a having a baby.
