Is mating all they think about? When will they produce?

We are new to raising ducks. We have 5 Muscovy ducks, 3 girls and 2 boys. They are about a year old +/-.

They started breeding like the dickens about 2 1/2 weeks ago. These kids are busy, busy, busy!

They free range, but we have checked everywhere they have access looking for eggs to no avail.

QUESTION: Is there and average length of time after they begin to breed, before they begin to lay eggs??

They are just like people ( Is sex all they think about?) but some people never "produce" anything.

LOL

Do not worry, unlike some people your ducks will "produce" just be patient.

My runners began displaying breeding behavior about four to eight weeks before laying.

In other words, four weeks later, we had an egg, eight weeks later, everyone was laying.

I changed the title a bit because I know how this crowd can be.
