Is Metzer Farms a good option for buying ducks?

When I ordered my ducklings I ordered them from a company in Ohio since it was close (wanted to reduce stress from shipping for my babies) but they came from Metzer anyways.
They all arrived healthy and happy. One was a runty one and a little odd but she survived and although she does have a spinal disformity and might be a little special needs she is otherwise perfectly healthy and happy and as a hatchling you'd never have know there was anything wrong with her besides being on the small side.
All the ducks I ordered then were correct breed and gender
I am getting my second batch from them and my new babies will be coming in June

I ordered welsh harlequins they’re growing well and healthy but one of the females is very mismarked and mis colored. Two of the other females have orange coming in on their bills. I thought the genetics would be better coming from Metzer.

I wonder if that's just how their ducks come for that breed? You can see how Bumblee my Welsh looks and she is not at all what I expected her to look like. She does seem to be very happy and healthy though.

I ordered from them this year. I got 6 different breeds. 5 were healthy and lively but 1 our black Swedish had horribly curled feet. She wasn’t able to move around and even though we tried placing her food and water in front of her she wouldn’t eat and barely drank and the next day she was gone. Might’ve just been something that slipped past QC? Either way we tried hard to save her and brace her feet. It broke our hearts. I would still order from them again though.

I ordered from Metzer this year for my first flock.
My first order was for 7 a mixed flock sexed females. 2 cayugas, 2 magpies, black runner, black Swedish, and a khaki Campbell.
They showed healthy with the exception of one that I could not save.
Metzer was very quick to replace the lost runner and with her sent a second runner for the trip.
My biggest issue was in that second shipment, I received a surprise duck that ended up being a drake. After contacting Metzer and asking the questions I was told these things happen in shipping and I could do what I wanted with it.
I will be honest and say that doesn’t sit well with me as this is a life regardless. So I raised the little silver appleyard and now get the joys of dealing with a large sexually aggressive drake. I am not a fan of the extreme games of hop on top but I do love him and he has such a funny personality that I can’t bare to part with him. He is kept separate from my girls and only allowed conjugal visits during the day.
Overall I would say Metzer is a good choice but be aware of what you order and what shows up.
