At least they aren't getting NSync. Having them break out in song and go touring could be very annoying ... for you and your neighbors!

Even my 6 month old marans had hard molts, they obviously don't know they were supposed to wait til next year for that! Bet we're in for a hard winter!

Most of mine are older done already, started as my new ones started laying.

Mine range in age between 1 and 5 years old, and molted as usual this year. No difference here.

All three of my flocks (have them separated into smaller groups, but need to merge two of them) have runs that look like birds exploded. LOL

The older hens looked mangy and their coop/run is full of feathers.

The molt has been hard enough in all my flocks to really slow egg production, which is problematic because we're to the point where we can sell between 5-10 dozen eggs per week from my 37 layers. In August I got 204 eggs in one week, now I'm lucky to get 100.

I am getting about 25-30 eggs a week from my 21 layers. Can’t wait for the new 9 to start. But won’t probably be until after the new year. The six hens that are a year are keeping us afloat, along with one of my 2yo Olive Eggers. Everyone else seems to be on molt break or winter break.
