We just had our first runner egg hatch today. Mom was standing outside the house looking confused and unsure. I checked to see what was going on, and the was a fresh baby duck. Mom hasn't been in for yet. She keeps pacing the entrance. I think the baby will be ok for a bit. It's 95 here and I'm sure hotter in the house. When do I intervene? I have a brooder set up. There are a bunch more eggs that need attention.

I'd bring the duckling inside, let the mother return to the nest, and then slip the duckling under her after dark.
