Is Murray Mcmurray Hatchery good??????????

I placed my first order with them yesterday. I have 25 chicks, plus the bonus rare breed coming feb 7th!

I ordered

Easter eggers
Buff Orpingtons
partridge cochin
light brahma
turkens

I have never had any of these before, so I'm excited.

This will be my 2nd year with chickens. My current chickens are mutts from a neighbor, some black australorps from craigslist, and a pair of RIR from the neighbor.

I ordered from them last spring. Only had one DOA: A poor little Delaware that was trampled in the corner of the shipping box.
I got some Buff Orpingtons, Red Stars, RIR, Delaware, Easter Eggers, Golden Campines, and Blue Andalusians.
They sent me a Silver Penciled Wyandotte for my free rare breed chick: He was re-homed to a friend and is doing great. All the birds are healthy and laying well. As to the best layers....by far the Red Stars and Rhode Island Reds....however, we have one Delaware who lays totally huge double and triple yolk eggs several days a week!

The Easter Eggers have two birds laying blue, two green, and one pink. I only got one mis-sexed bird....one of my Easter Egger pullets turned out to be a dude, but I really don't think that was too bad an average.

I don't have any good pictures of a lot of the birds, but here is a shot of one of my Easter Egger roos and his harem of Buff Orpington ladies busy in the horse paddock today...all from Mcmurray...

Here are two of the Rhode Island Reds and a couple Red Stars in their run today....

I am happy with their birds. I also have some from Ideal, and they have been good as well.

I have ordered from McMurray several times and have always been happy with the customer service and with the birds ordered. All arrived when they were supposed to, and all were alive and have stayed that way.
