Is my Barred Rock Bantam a hen or rooster?

ROO, going by that amount of red and comb/ wattle size at that young of an age, my 18 wk old BR hen is not that red yet even, the feathers are hen BR color-- boy BR are more silver. so agreeing with the two posts above maybe you have a cochin

100% a cockerel, and looks like a barred cochin not a rock.

I agree Barred rocks are not feather footed. Unless you got a mixed breed.

I say a rooster cause of him comb is red so early. Does he has any spurs on the back of his legs

100% cockerel. And its a Barred Cochin or mix, not a Barred Rock, as it has feathered legs.

Wow. This is a tricky one. And I've been raising barred rock (bantams) for quite some time...It has a really big comb for a hen- if it is one. I would say it is a cockerel (male). Does it boss the other youngsters around? If so, it is probably a boy. Sorry I didn't give you a clear answer!

Plus, I agree with bantam lover21. as soon as I saw the feathered feet, I was thinkin' he was a cochin or something like that.

It is a HEN. It's feathers are too dark to be a cock.
