It seems to be closing in but you can tell everything there is not fluffed out like it was before. Also sometimes she must flex her butt muscles cause then it
looks more bare. I think we are going to be ok because it looks like it is improving. I have been giving the 3 hens a half can of tuna with oatmeal on
top a couple times a week as a treat. I heard the additional protien is good for the feathers.
I was working in the garden yesterday so I had them out in the run for a long time. I was surprised how well they listen when it is time to go back
in after they have all that outside time. They where taking dust baths and sunning themselves. I don't have a top on the run so I don't
like to leave them out there long unless I am around.
Last year 2 hawks where doing a air show about 40ft above the coop. It went on for a half hour. Then one day a hawk was on my patio diggining in the
flowers by the lattice of the pool deck. Then it went under the deck and tried the flowers from that side. Maybe it seen a mouse. When I first looked out the
window and glanced I thought a chicken got loose. Their feet look just like a chickens.
I also seen a eagle a few times last year. It flew on the fence around the pool.
I am a little south of chicago and the woods are about 10 miles away but still surprised to see all this preditor activity. I will get a possum or a raccoon
run thru the yard at night in the summer. One day I was coming home in the dark and a fox ran down the street. Never seen the fox again.
