Ok....I’m sure this is too early to be concerned but I have chicks in the brooder and I think one of my BR may be a cockerel. They are only 2 and a half weeks old but this chick has a much larger comb than it’s hatchlings. Is it too early to tell?

I think your suspicions are likely correct and you have a little cockerel. If you wait a few more weeks it will become increasingly obvious.

Thanks @swamphiker. Anyone else have thoughts? I would really appreciate more feedback. I’m a little annoyed considering I paid for pullets and not straight run....

I have one that had a comb like that early on. At just over six weeks it still has a bigger comb than the other 4 but very little pink and no wattles yet. I am leaning very much towards it being a pullet but time will tell.

Thanks @Farmbabies I guess time will tell. Really hoping it’s not a cockerel because I didn’t want to cull any this early. And I paid for pullets. Ha
