I need to know if my 3 week old Black Austrolorp is a rooster since I can only keep hens. He was the same size and age as the Golden Sexlink female I brought home from feed store but this week he is 15-20% bigger. Is this a sign he may be a Rooster? So far their feather tips are the same shape.

Hi and Welcome to BYC!

Could you possibly post a picture of the chick in question? It would make it easier for us to help you out.

Enjoy!

Wait until about 7 weeks and you should be able to tell by the comb.

both BA's at 7 weeks

Australorps are going to be a lot bigger than your sexlinks anyhow, so that could be part of it. Look at combs, if they are developing or redder, same with wattles.
