Is my chick dying or just cold?

I'm not sure if coccidiosis would be rampant in a 2 day old chick.. could just be failure to thrive. Try nutri-drench. Is the chicks poop always runny? any signs of blood in the poop?

I'm feeding the chicks chick starter. And I'm using a heat Matt under the brooder. The others are doing good and there is nothing wrong with them. There eating and pecking at everything.

I have one white cochin, one barred rock, and a black jersey giant. The jersey giant is the one that's won't stand or open its eyes.

In your title you wonder if she is cold - is she staying huddled on the heat source? How warm is that?
Inspect her legs-are they crooked or seem to be splayed out-anything unusual compared to the other 2?
Is she constantly peeping or quiet?

Do what you can to get the chick hydrated. 1-2drops of Poultry Nutri-Drench given directly may help.
Check to make sure her vent is clear and she doesn't have a clogged behind. Watch to see if she is pooping. Does it feel like she has anything in her crop?

Sometimes, even when we try everything we know to do, chicks fail to thrive. Hopefully she just needs to be warmed and hydrated, but prepare yourself that you may lose her if she doesn't perk up soon.

No matter where I put her she just lays down. The temperature is 98. She stays quiet unless I pick her up. The only thing that's unusual when they arrived is she is the smallest. All of them are the same age but different breeds. I would think she should be bigger than the others since she is a jersey giant.

If the heat mat is under the whole brooder, you have a problem. When providing contact type of heat, which the heat mat is, it should be provided from above, and then only in a small area of the brooder. 98* is too warm. The entire brooder should NEVER be heated. I would remedy the heat situation and get some Poultry Nutri Drench.
