So, we have a Silver Laced Wyandotte that is about 3 months old. We got "her" over a month ago thinking we were getting a hen. We sent a photo to the farmer we buy from a he said she looks a lot like a young roo, but isn't sure. We can't have roosters in our town, though. She hasn't crowed or anything yet and is at the bottom of the pecking order. Anyone think they know?

You have a cockerel. Large white patches over the wings plus the green in the tail. And those skinny feathers at the base of his tail...only boys get those.

And with silver laced the boys have a different pattern then the girls.
Yours is getting in the rooster pattern.

Agreed, I'd also like to see a side by side of some silver laced male/females. I think it's a cockerel based on comb and wattle development. MY SLW gals are no where near developed at just a couple days shy of 16 weeks.

Hi, welcome to BYC! :frow

That is definitely a cockerel. The boys get blotchy barring on top of their wing while the girls keep a nice clear lace pattern... that is true for all laced breeds except maybe Seabrights.
