Thanks for the replies about Amelia. She is roosting as high in the loft as she can get. She is eating and drinking water, and it seems she is sleeping at night in the wooden box with straw in it that we fixed for her. That is also high, but not as high as she is roosting during the day. It has been very cold here in Vermont, which is a concern as our shed has openings on two sides. Since water freezes quickly, we take her warm water two or three times a day. She shows no interest in rejoining our neighbors' flock. We're going to give her a teddy bear for comfort later today. Unfortunately, we are unable to take on more chickens to be companions for her. Any other suggestions for her care will be appreciated.
