If you have 6x6 now (36 sq/ft) and need 60 sq/ft for 6 hens, a 4x6 (24 sq/ft) add-on would do it. And if you made it so it could go on either side of the ark, you could swap it back and forth every week or so, allowing the grass to regrow on the opposite side.

Yes, the Menagerie is alive and well. K because our last name starts with K, 7 because my husband and I have 7 children, and Menagerie, well yes we are Trek fans.........

I talked to my construction crew and he has amended the plans for a 12 foot x 10 foot coop, 4 x 10 for the inside coop & nesting boxes, and 8 x 10 for the run. Soooooooo......that should be enough. For now. Until I find more chicks I can't live without.

And as far as the spice jokes........I have a name straight from the rack myself. It's Cinnamon. Must be the red hair......and no, I don't have a sister named Paprika or Nutmeg. There are the twins, Salt 'n Pepper, though........
