I was going through my camera memory card yesterday and found a video my son took of the baby chicks. It has a great shot of the top of the head and front of the legs....what a neat surprise. I have to wait for Hubby to edit the video and post it to youtube. I'll get a link up in about 3 hours so you all can see.

But, it has all the signs of a girl!
Single dot on top of the head and black shadowing on the front of the legs.
Hurrah!

I hopefully have a girl that doesn't follow the trends because she has: thick legs, a waddle, and white hair.
Kinda like me!

Is the dot yellow or white/grey? At 11 weeks my female has barely started to get wattles and is thinking about pinking up on her comb. Look up the sex link of dominiques it will tell you what to look for on the video.

Here we go: Video Coverage of Clara Bill as a baby bird: head and front of feet visible...video taken by my 9-yr-old.

What say you now? Roo or pullet?

The video really isn't clear to see at least for me. I do all of this via my smartphone (hence the crazy words scattered throughout all of my entries, stupid autocorrect) but by your first pics u still say roo. Take a pic today and post it. They do grow and change overnight.

Nickie, the chicken lady we got her from just took a look at my pics and said, without a doubt, that is Clarence Bill - a roo. So, we just took hm back to her chicken farm and saw all the Dominiques running around, and it was so obvious now that everyone has educated me on what a roo vs. Pullet looks like in a Dominique.

Now, we have little Nicky.

. She has black legs and a dark body with narrow white banding and a pale, small comb.

Thanks all., and best of luck to our CB. We'll hope he has a good long life where he can crow his heart out.
