Hemmie is acting suspiciously like she's getting ready to lay another egg! They got to swim in their pool outside today, since it was nice and sunny, and Downey was working the camera. Hemmie had to get some good poses in too, of course.

It helps explain why I primarily house them inside. It's easy to give them plenty of space where they feel comfy and safe, and I know they're not getting accosted by every predator on the food chain. Even the local cats are bigger than they are! Their space is by huge windows, so they get lots of sun, and they get outside time in their pool. I'm working on a bigger, secure outdoor run for them during spring and summer, but I'll still supervise all their outside time. They are supposed to be a little bigger than calls, but I think they're about the same size! I still grind their food to a very coarse powder, because the starter crumbles were just too big. They get chick sized grit, too!
