Is my duck suffering from botulism ?

Thank you so much all of you. I really appreciate it. I didn't know about this nutrition deficiency. :( I will try to find duck feed rich with vitamins and protein. I hope it's not too late.

There might be a possibility she got infections also. She liked to roll in the mud sometimes, catch worm and eat. There might have been rotten food in the mud which may have caused infection. She used to be in a open lawn. Now we have isolated her in our bathroom.

For future reference, the Cephalexin dose is 125 mg/kg twice a day orally.

There are some things you could try, but not knowing what you have available makes it hard to suggest them.

If she were mine I would start by getting her warm, then I would give her subcutaneous fluids (lactated ringers solution under skin). Since you have a friend that's a medic, maybe they could help with that.

I would also start the duck on vitamin b injections and injectable antibiotics. Talk to your medic friend and see if they can help you find something.

Once hydrated I would tube some sort of high protein food.
125mg/kg, kg is her weight?

She died today morning :( Taking the other duck to the vet tomorrow. I don't want to lose her too :(

Thank you all for your inputs. I learnt a lot about ducks. I realised it's not easy at all.
