So I recently got two new ducklings. They were approx a week or two when I got them and it has been almost three weeks total since I've had them. My sister also got two ducklings. She was unable to tend to them much due to having three kids and rarely being home so she gave them to me. They both have bent legs, one worse than the other. We believe it is because they were kept in a small box and only cleaned daily. She allowed them so swim every now and then as well, but they never went outside. Today I noticed that the duckling with the mostly bent legs, Nibble, has been acting strange. He is always sitting down (he will walk and eat every now and then) and tends to isolate himself when the other ducklings are playing. He stretches his wings while walking, I assume to keep his balance since his legs are damaged, and there seems to be feathers missing on the back of his neck. I am going to buy niacin to add to their water today in attempts to strengthen their legs.
What could be wrong with Nibble?
The other ducklings (Mellow, Kody, and Baby) seem fine. Mellow's legs are slighly bent but she is a pretty happy duck and they seem to be getting straighter. It is NIbble that I am worried about. Please help?

I don't have a picture of his legs currently. I'll take one soon. His legs are pretty badly bent.

If he has not had much opportunity to exercise, and not an optimal diet, that could look like what is going on with Nibbles.

So, warm bath no soap, deep enough to float in for five or ten minutes two or three times a day to take the weight off his legs and help strengthen them. He may have been picked on, on the back of his neck, or it could be he is losing down feathers before getting adult feathers, or he has had a place he can poke his head through and rub the feathers off the back of his neck.

Good idea to get the niacin - I would get a poultry multi vitamin to add to their water once a week. Take a look at Whistles the Duck's story for some ideas and inspiration. Nibbles may need a hobble of some sort, or leg braces. I would want to try to get that helped while he is still young and growing. Pekins can have leg troubles even under the best circumstances. Be creative and patient.

I agree with Amiga.
