Okay, so I ordered three "sexed" chicks from my pet chicken in May. They are now about seven weeks old. I have a buff brahma, a buff orpington, and a bantam easter egger. At the moment, I feel as though I am going to die of frustration. Everyone on here says that Edith, my BO is a rooster.

Okay, so now I'm told I'll have to part with a very close to me pet. And if that isn't bad enough, I'm now suspecting that my bantam easter egger is a boy too. How in the world am I going to find TWO homes?! And one for a bantam rooster, too?! So I am asking people to take a look at Sybil, and tell me what they believe.

Do you have a picture of Edith's tail feathers? I don't know if you have another thread on this chicken, if so, you can direct me that way and I can look there. To me, Edith's mug shot doesn't convince me that she's a he. There are lots of hens that have big wattles..
The bantam EE looks kind of boyish, but I don't know for certain if it is.. I have heard that male EEs will have more brown on the shoulder areas. I don't know if the same goes for the bantam varieties. EEs can be hard to sex. :\

Thank you all for the input! Should I wait to put them on CraigsList, until they begin crowing?

Here are some pictures of Edith's tail feathers. Do I have hope?

I'm not convinced that Edith is a rooster just yet. So far, to me, it looks female to me. If I were you, I would hang onto the Buff until it crows, if it will. 7 weeks isn't very old anyway. At 14 weeks, you will probably know for certain what both are. I admit, the EE does look like a young roo.
