Is my easter egger a rooster????

Don't know if this will help or not, but since my buff orps are the same age (10 weeks), here's a picture of my biggest girl:

I have six buff orps and they all look like this one - very small comb, not very red around the face. I'm new to chickens, though, so what do I know, lol! Just thought a same-age picture might be helpful for comparison for your buff orpington. I have no clue about the other one. Hope it works out!

@keesmom
I'm in Western MA... Where are you located? Do you have any pictures? I'm not worried about breeder quality at this point, i just need a couple of sweet female friends for my buff brahma.

@6of6chicks Yes that does help! That comb is way smaller than Edith's... You've got a very pretty buff orpington pullet! I'm jealous :) .

I'm new to chickens as well, and am off to a rather unlucky start.

Thanks! It's funny, that particular girl has gotten a bit snarky lately, lol! On the whole though they're a nice bunch. I think it's totally luck of the draw as far as hens vs. roos go. After I made that post I found another pic that is a close-up of one of the others:

Just comparing Edith to my girls, it does look like Edith is a roo.

I'm so sorry - I know that's the last thing you want to hear! Guess Edith is more like an Ed! He's a beautiful bird, though, and I'm sure you can find a home for him on Craig's list - or maybe try posting a notice at a local feed store? I hope it works out and I'm crossing my fingers for you that the EE still turns out to be a girl!

My Edith is the definition of snarky

!! This breed is so sweet and funny.

Eddie is in consideration for the new names. Its just really hard to sex this breed because their hackle and saddle feathers are all round. I'm really reluctant to use craigslist.... I went searching and all I could find was sketchy "free rooster wanted" posted by people who want a free, fresh meal. I might try the feed store idea, I hadn't though of that! Unfortunately my EE is a rooster- crowing has begun

As promised, here is Edith, my Buff Orpington... Rooster :(

But a fine rooster he is! Protective, but sweet as can be towards me (he still cuddles in my lap). I even saw him do the mating dance! For some reason he does it when he sees my phone- I think he sees his reflection :D

We are going to try to hold on to him. Hopefully he won't crow as much as his "brother", who has since been rehomed.

Thanks everyone for the input! I just wanted to report back so that others in my situation can see what a roo looks like!

He is a rooster and I would watch out thay are so bad easter egger roosters thay hurt the hens and wen I went to get the eggs thay both attacked me and lurn bad behavior from wone to another

I am in the same predicament! I ordered 6 hens from Chickens for backyards and paid extra to have them sexed and they were delivered in June. They are 10 weeks old~ The first Easter Egger died of crossbeak at 3-1/2 weeks old. :( her "sister" we are now being told is a male! : ( Here are a couple pictures!

I had his twin brother here a few months ago. Could tell at 2 weeks it was a cockerel. I got 2 males out of six sexed EE pullets.

Thanks! :( We love her/him! Don't want to have to give he/she away! But I don't think I can have roosters! :-(
