Is my easter egger a rooster????

I am in the same predicament! I ordered 6 hens from Chickens for backyards and paid extra to have them sexed and they were delivered in June. They are 10 weeks old~ The first Easter Egger died of crossbeak at 3-1/2 weeks old. :( her "sister" we are now being told is a male! : ( Here are a couple pictures!

A ten weeks, I say it is a he.

Oh I'm so sorry! That bright red comb does usually signal a rooster :(

It's so darn frustrating when they screw up an order like that!! And so much money! I paid about 40 dollars for shipping, then 12 dollars for the vaccinated easter eggers, and 5 dollars for the vaccinated standard breeds. All of this, only to have one surviving pullet. Hrmph.

I raised mine to be pets as well, and got really close to every single one of them. My Easter Egger rooster did start to get aggressive, "tap dancing" at me, and then biting my fingers and ankles. Because of this, it was slightly less difficult to let go of him, though I cried afterwards regardless. We put an ad for him on Craigslist, not expecting anything, and two weeks later a man called me and said he wanted a rooster to crow whenever something enters the yard. A perfect fit :)

I'm hoping with all my might that my lovely Buff Orpington rooster Edith keeps his beak shut. He crows maybe three or four times in the morning, but thats it. He is so sweet and cuddly, yet protective as well. Maybe this little rooster will stay quiet! Have you heard of the "No Crow Collar"? I haven't tried it, but there are youtube videos, and threads here on BYC about it.

I wish you the best of luck!
