Is my EE chick a Roo? or just Rumpless?

Just did a quick search, for my own education, and according to the Easter Egger Club of America, "Legs: Green is typical but other colors include, willow, slate, yellow." I'm learning every day!

I have an EE pullet with those colored legs. They are definitely not yellow, but more a yellow greenish. She's only 7 wks herself, so I don't know about whether she'll lay colored eggs or not. She sure is a sweetheart though. Good luck with your chicks. I think "he" looks like a girl myself, but I'm not too experienced with sexing.

Easter Egger Club of America. . . . hahahahaha

Anyway, Gizmo is a definite cockerel!!

Stripe, not entirely sure.

Thanks. Do you think Gizmo is a Roo because of the feathering or the comb...or both.

I'm so sad:th. Gizmo is the favorite and calmest sweetest chick we have. BUMMER if he is a roo.

Illia,
OK, so, I'm not above being snickered at, but, just so I can learn, are you "hahahahaha"ing at "Easter Egger Club of America" because they're mutts, or is there some other reason? I just found them online and thought well, if anyone should know...

I wouldn't call it a roo just yet. I would wait until it gets more around 8 weeks at least.

blefky~ Don't worry about the EE deal. It can be a touchy subject between Ameraucanas and Araucanas owners and breeders. There is such a mess between hatcheries trying to pull of selling pure ameraucanas when they are all in reality EE (mutts) it has the true breeders upset. Some feel there shouldn't be a club or anything real special since they are mutts and don't breed true. (Not saying that is the case for Illia) I am just giving you a quick run down about EE's and how it can turn ugly quick.

They are both still half fuzz. I will post pics again in two weeks to see what you think then. Thank you everyone for your input.

- I'll keep hoping they are both pullets until then.
