I usually take out about a fourth of the water, add in new, and sometimes put in conditioner, then I take out all the plants and thing, scrub them off, and wash the filter cartridge. I scrub the sides and stir up all the gravel to get the debris to float, then get it out with a net. I do this every week. What do you use to clean your tank, and equipment?
It doesn't have a black spot. I looked, but then I read it could be lighter colored if the fish was orange or yellow. Mine is yellow with black dots all over. I think it's a Lyretail.
Females will have a normal anal fin, males have a modified anal fin called a gonopodium, all male livebearers develop them, so sexing should be easy. Don't go by the dorsal fin or tail shape as different varieties have different shapes.See, my males for sure have a inch long at least dorsal fin on the top. Really long and flowing. The one in question doesn't have that. But, it doesnt have that extra fin at the bottoms, either. So....maybe still male?
Okay. Then I must have a male.....Females will have a normal anal fin, males have a modified anal fin called a gonopodium, all male livebearers develop them, so sexing should be easy. Don't go by the dorsal fin or tail shape as different varieties have different shapes.
