Is my hen a roo?

Yep its a roo. Looks just like my Roo's. The partridge pullets are brown and black barred.

I am very sad that Gertrude is a George. I have only 3 other chickens. I suppose I have to either find him another home or get 7 more hens. How long do I have before he starts "over taxing" the hens and my neighbors complain?

its hard to say . . . I think 8+ wks is about the age they are when they normally crow. But I've heard none of mine crow yet and they are 11.5 wks old. Maybe you can find someone on craigslist that wants to buy him (you may have to give him away for free as people always want to get rid of the roosters) Where are you located?

I am located in CT. I sent a photo to My Pet Chicken (where I purchased the chicks) and they said that it was too soon to really know, and she could just be a hen. I just might keep him/her. I hope the neighbors don't mind the noise.
