Is my hen an EE (Easter Egger) Or a true Ameraucana?

Hey all.
I got this hen in summer of 2008. So she'll be a little over 2yrs old this August.
The hatchery told us she was an Ameraucana, witch I hear alot of people sell you EE's instead of true Ameraucanas.
Either way I don't care what she is, I'm just curious to know. She lays Blue-ish Green-ish eggs.

Yep she is an EE but she is pretty, I love EE;s and would really love to have more. My only green egg layer died this last winter,

Due to her coming from a hatchery they only sell EE's if you want a true Americuana you have to go through a breeder, she won't breed true, the hatchery's are mix of different color Americuana's so that makes them EE's does that make sense, and Americuana's lay blue eggs not green if I am not mistaken that is the way it was explained to me.

the only hatchery that i know of that sells pure ameracaunas (i think their pure

) is ideal.

Ameraucanas are very specific colors - I think that's the best way to tell. You can go to the website www.ameraucana.org to find out more.

That said, I have EEs and I think they are amazing! Most of them look almost exactly like yours.
