Looking for help for my hen! She is starting to lose a bunch of feathers, but too young for a molt. She is not even a year old yet. Appetite is down, and she’s walking weird (video below), but she can still run and catch up to the others. Seems like she’s in pain when I try to touch her feathers to check for mites/lice.

May be her, but one chicken did lay a weird egg a week or two ago. It was a soft and not fully closed egg with some black at the top.

She appears to be having something neurological happening. Hard to know if this is wry neck or something else effecting the brain. Something toxic in the environment, a head injury, Mareks, mold in feed, are some of the possibilities. I would offer her human vitamin E 400 IU daily and a little scrambled egg for selenium. How do her eyes look? Are her pupils equal in size?

Will offer these vitamins. Eyes look good. Runs like normal and can still roost/go up into coop. Just not eating much and losing feathers. Seemed to all start after I found that weird soft/non-complete egg

She does this when standing there (@1:46):

It’s like her back feathers are raising up…
