I wasn’t sure where to post this but I thought this thread was most fitting! So I have a 22 week old welsummer and I’m not sure if she looks a bit thin. She has 2 other flock members - a buff Sussex and a light Sussex but she looks so much thinner than them. I’m not sure if this is normal for welsummers and not the others but i would just like to know if she looks skinny to anyone else. Thank you.

The other breeds are more meaty, hiw does her keel feel? The bone that is along the belly
I’m not sure, she really doesn’t like handling and avoids it at all costs. I may be able to feel tomorrow with treat bribery. What is it supposed to feel like and what would it feel like if she was under weight?

Hello! When she's roosting, take her off and see how she feels in your hands. She should feel heavy for her size. You can compare to the others for size as well.

She jumps up onto my lap now and again and she is quite heavy and feel’s around the same weight as the others. She’s not lethargic at all and loves exploring whilst free roaming
