That is "normal" chicken behavior - not a gender issue. For assessment of gender you will want to post a few pictures of the bird in question - a good head shot as well as a side view showing the entire bird in a natural standing position.

Thank you both of you, but that's some sad news. Now I have to give him away or kill him! My neighborhood is strictly no roosters.
