Is my pot belly pig pregnant?!?!?

Pics
Thank you Jorey, my daughter loves it as well. I was worried about Jazzy keeping her up at night and during nap time with all her snorting and rooting. It goes to show AGAIN how smart pigs are. I have my baby monitor going so I hear both of them and she can be really loud, but when Liana is asleep she knows to be quiet. She still snorts and roots but keeps it low key so Liana can sleep. It was my main worry but it seems to be an unnecessary one. And yes waiting is the worse part. sigh...but what can you do. lol And starling I think they start nesting up to two days before first piglet....can't be sure I am NO expert but that is what I have read. Good luck and post pics for sure.

yeah for stinkerbell!!!

sarahswank I would have prefered an ultrasound but my vet doesn't have one. Also I am not sure the local large animal vet has one and I am not sure if I can handle taking her to the vet again. The one vet I know that has an ultrasound machine asks way to much. It is just a wait and see game. I think she was to early in gestation when we took the xray as well. I think we just have a few more weeks to go anyway. If she hasn't had them by the end of July then she isn't pregnant for sure.
I totally understand if your vet didnt have one; you can only work with what you have. HOWEVER, I think that is it important you do something for her.... waiting another month to find out if the bleeding is from pregnacy or not is what i would consider responsible and borderline inhumane. (I dont think your a bad or cruel person in anyway. I can see you care, I am just telling you what it looks like from the outside looking in.) Even if she was pregnant, bloody episodes are not normal, and you need to either figure out why she is aborting or completely end her pregnancy now. Repeat abortions are a concern and could lead to her having worse issues as the embryos grow in size and then are aborted. Even within livestock, producers generally do not just let bloody discharge happen and will find a cause for it.

I understand money is a concern, but your pigs welfare is also important. Call the large animal vet, see if he/she has an ultrasound and would make a house call. Ask your personal vet if she can either borrow an ultrasound or atleast do further testing to figure out what is causing this. I cant remember what all testing your vet did, but atleast push her to give you more answers or atleast outline to you what the potential differentials are. (what she thinks might be wrong, what testing would help, what are the risks/outcomes, and how or if you can fix them). Apply for care credit if you need a loan (http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/) other resourses to try are the pet fund (wait time might be somewhat long but apply now and even if you need to wait until your sure is she is or is not pregnant, they might be able to help with cost of any testing.) (http://thepetfund.com/), sign up on pet chance and try to raise atleast some money (they will give the vet any money donated, even if it isnt the full amount you asked for)http://www.petchance.org/,

Now, dont think I am judging you as a bad person in anyway. I know your doing the best you can for your little pig. The point of this response was not to make you feel bad, but only to help you see what is going on in a new perspective and offer some other options with how to procede.

Update on my stinkerbelle she is still Layin a lot she got up this am to try an eat an had to go lay right back down. I feel helpless like I should do something to help her but don't know what lol. I figured to let Mother Nature take its course. But I will keep y'all updated.

I understand what you are saying sarah, I will try those options and see what comes up. I don't feel like you are judging me either. I will let you know what I come up with. Thank you for your concern

Starling, any babies yet?? Let us know.

As for jazzy, she seems do be doing great. She loves her new set up, specially her bed. And she likes the fact that now she has a litterbox big enough for her. I like that too, no more missing the box. Liana loves having her in her room, she never would go in her room and just play, and now she is in there all the time. Only problem is Liana likes to "share" her toys with Jazzy and Jazzy loves it.

not yet it is like she has jus stopped. she is still gathering stix and stuff, the first night i noticed her all she did was lay and lay all the next day now she is runnin around gathering stix and leaves makin a bigger nest. not real sure what she is doing. but if she does not get on with it soon,, i m gonna call a vet out jus to make sure she is ok. and find out for sure when she may farrow.
