Is my pullet a pure Araucana?? Help

I think it is important to ask the OP what part of the world she is in.

The picture of the rooster is not a pure Araucana by American standards, as they must be rumpless (tailess), pea combed, and ear tufted.

However, the British standard allows for tails, beards and muffs (which conceals tufts). The Australian standard allows for tufts and tails.

So which standard, part of the world, is this bird in? Then you can begin to discuss if it meets breed standards for that particular Araucana. And I agree, there is a lot of color variation for Araucana in any standard. I also agree not meeting color standard does not mean a bird is not a "purebred," however it does mean the bird has standard flaws and could be disqualified in the show ring. (Many backyarders are more concerned with the blue gene purity than the feather color purity...and many breed for feather color uniqueness...but still have "purebreds" just not up to breed color standard....of course Ameraucana breeders disqualify any non-standard color as not Ameraucana...but they are fighting a losing battle with the age old Easter Egger quandary.)

The hen, however, does not meet anyone's standards for an Araucana. She actually looks like a Blue Maran mix to me which is why she is an olive egger...possible Araucana/Marans.

I know they mean UK Araucana. I still think in this case mixed breed = mixed color
