One of my pullets which is almost 5 months old has starting laying - but we DONT know where her nest is! We have a very big yard with trees... There isnt a risk of predators but what worries us is that she might become broody anytime if her eggs arent collected..
She is supposed to have about 3-4 eggs in her nest for now.
We know that because she laid her very first egg last Saturday in the coop. A day after, one of the other hens sat in her spot so she went to find another nest which is "unknown"...
We can't follow her since we arent home until afternoon hours.
Is it LIKELY that she will go broody soon if her eggs arent collected??? I don't see a reason why not...
I want to believe that since she is VERY young, she isnt going to be broody so quickly (??) and that will give us a bit more time to search for her nest... ??
Thank you for your answers!
