Is my red jungle fowl something else maybe ?

Yes Sir, That is the roo. I have 3 hens from this hatch. They are ALL laying now. Two hens are the same and the one hen is very dark with a golden cape/neck feather. They all are extremely friendly and very spoiled.

I sure am glad i found those pics though. I thought we lost them to a hared drive failure.

Wow, how lucky you are, that coloring is a very sought after bird in gamefowl. Mostly because of the bloodlines they come from, but also due to their extreme beauty. Let me know if you want to sell some of your hatching eggs.

These are not mine pulled from google image, mine are still chicks, but it should give you a idea as to what you have.

If a game hen was on eggs, then you took the eggs after she abandoned them, it would stand to reason that the chicks that hatched were at least half game. Those chicks for the most part are wheaten (three wheaten and one wheaten/duckwing split I think) and RJF are duckwing only.
Looks like you have a game chicken.

It is not unusual for people to cross breed different strains and breeds of games together. No telling what breed or combination of breeds have gone into your birds.
