I'm going to guess a boy, based on those wattles and comb. My boy silkie had large comb and wattles, female silkie has only a small comb and like no wattles.

Squatting DOES NOT equal hen!! I have a Welsummer Rooster that is 7 months old, and have hand raised since he was 3 days old. He squats & squawks up a storm, whenever I go to pick him up, which is daily. I do this to keep him tame, gentle and manageable. I trust him explicitly and he has never danced me or bit me, he is THE BEST Roo that we have.
