Is my silkie a hen or a rooster? please and thank you

    I'm not sure. Silkies are very difficult to tell gender on. For now, I'm leaning towards pullet.

    How old is it? I'm leaning towards cockerel.

    My silkie is about 4 1/2 months old. Im not sure how to directly reply to a post yet.

    I'm still thinking pullet. Male Silkies tend to have larger comb and wattles.

    I agree.

    However, sometimes you don't know a Silkie's gender until it either crows or lays!

    I'd say pullet, but how does she act? Is she sweet and dumb? (my pullet is) Or is he/she aggressive (My rooster is).

    I say its too young to sex, but if I had to guess, I'd say cockerel. FWIW- bearded Silkie males are NOT supposed to have large combs or wattles. Bearding suppresses them, and yours is bearded. With the wattle size and color, sure makes me think boy...

    I have a bearded white silkie who I am almost sure is a male. He is younger than this silkie. He has a huge dark purple comb and wattles. This is definitely a hen.
