it's so cute!Trying to figure out if my Turken will be a rooster or not any thoughts guys?
Yea the comb was what got me to that and I read somewhere that roosters feathers grow in more uniform than hens and Elmy’s feathers seem to be a little straighter than my other chicksThe comb is a little suspicious, but I think it is too early to say. 6 weeks is a god time to start trying to determine gender.
Thankyou honestly my absolute favorite little elmy from day one loves for me to hold her/him and just sit with meit's so cute!
Is a turken a cross breed?Thankyou honestly my absolute favorite little elmy from day one loves for me to hold her/him and just sit with me
I wouldn't put any stock in the way the feathers grow in. Right now, until 13, 14 weeks, you have to judge by color and size of the comb, but really unless it is very obvious, it is best to wait until 6 weeks or so. And it's not obvious with this one-- it could go either way.Yea the comb was what got me to that and I read somewhere that roosters feathers grow in more uniform than hens and Elmy’s feathers seem to be a little straighter than my other chicks
Whatever the gender, it has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen on a chicken!Thankyou honestly my absolute favorite little elmy from day one loves for me to hold her/him and just sit with me
