Is one of my Orpingtons a Roo?

I think I see the start of some pointed saddle feathers, so roo.

Yep, you've got yourself an awesome roo!

My BOs are 4 months and the pullets have yet to grow a comb like that. My BO roo (Bevin!) has a large comb and waddles.

He's great - he has not started to crow... but I have a Cuckoo Marans rooster that is the same age that is the dominate roo and he is *much* bigger than Bevin - I wouln't be crowin' if I were him, either!

Do you know when he may start to crow? he does not show ANY signs of wanting to do it. I think he thinks he is a hen.

Again, it may be awhile before you hear him crow. You have another rooster correct? That other roo is more than likely a very dominant alpha. Chickens are stupid, but they have a strong sense of self preservation. Would you want to crow knowing you might get your butt kicked for doing so?
My alpha crowed at 10 weeks. My other roo (who is now my alpha) didn't crow until he was 15 weeks and then only rarely. Every time he did the alpha reminded him of his place.

Ok... i know this has nothing to do with chickens, but does anyone know why i cannot locate the "Post a new topic" tab? I would like to post another question but seem to have problems with it. Do i only get to ask a certain amount of questions in a certain time period.? Thanks all!

You won't find it if you are already on a thread, like this one. Click on the category...for instance, in this case Chicken Behaviors and Egglaying
Now look at the right side of your screen, top or bottom. It's yellow and looks just like the post a reply button.

I thought that all three chicks were just days old when I got them, the one on the right looked like a rooster early on. I was glad that the other two looked to be hens. Until, all of a sudden one of the hens started looking more like a rooster (I originally thought it was a faster developing hen. Turns out it was a slower developing rooster?)
