Well maybe I'll go ahead and use the shavings because my brooder is a 2x4 frame that exposes the dirt floor of my barn and the dust is really bad from the floor. Hopefully in another week I can put them outside. At least in the daytime when it's warm. I've only had the chicks for a week and I'm still trying to figure out my system.
