We now have a live trap baited with cat food (the farm supply store recommended tuna). I'm not eager to check the trap tomorrow morning...but if we find something I'll call our local wildlife management.

I think your coop design / deterrents sound very good. That is exactly what has been recommended to me.

The entire weasel family is very scary.

I don't know if I'd call them scary. Just really really persistant. If they want to get in some where they'll often keep trying over and over again. Cute though.
