We got this chicky about a month ago and wondering if hen or rooster?
Neck feathers are the most suspicious and fan out like an umbrella when it rears up.
Has a loudish call but we've only heard a couple of times.
Otherwise has no distinct mannerisms and is more shy than our hens.

If can't tell from photos, what is the best way for me to find out?

Thinking the breed is either leghorn, white Orpington, or most likely rhode island white?

If its calling it's mostl ikely a rooster. Wait till he claws you, you'll know for sure.
The only way to really know for sure is when it starts crowing, aggressive behavior is another good sign, and of course, lack of eggs.

Going to keep him now or what?
