This is my 3.5 week old buff orpington chick. I'm thinking she is a he, but have very little experience to draw on. Any ideas?

Sorry to say, your precious little B.O. is a cockerel. leg thickness and comb development for it's age are declaring that it is a rugged young roo.
Edited to add: But he sure is a pretty little boy!

Hmmm... I know that if the comb is big and legs are long, its a boy. He looks like a nice little gentleman, though!

One of my kids (the one who claims to have no interest in the chickens) pointed this out about a week ago: "OMG--it's comb is huge!". Also, little Orpington seems to be intently watching my every move. So I have been looking for a possible new home already just in case! Actually, I think it's sort of cool- we get to learn something new! Thanks for the input!

I got him/her at a farm store as a pullet. I do know that sexing chicks isn't an exact science though! He is awfully cute, so I'm hoping to find someplace where he won't end up in the crock pot---at least not right away!
