My Grandfather gave me this little Bantam Hen, the only thing he could call her was a "Banty" I have her in a coop by herself right now. She's laid...2 eggs, but was exposed to a black rooster (probably another Old English Game) and I think if any of the eggs hatch later I should get more blues or blacks.

I got a couple questions though...

are blues rare?

She's made a nest, and keeps covering her eggs with some of the hay . I made a nesting box out of a cardboard box and stuck that inside of a dog carrier so I can lock her in that at night because I have raccoons around, do you think that'll keep her safe?

How high of tempatures should I just take her inside for?

I'm going to leave any eggs she lays with her, what are my chances of them hatching? she already raised one clutch of chicks to 8 weeks on my grandparent's farm. (Those chicks joined up with a group of chicks from other hens who kicked them out so to speak when they got big enough)

If you can't already tell, this is my first chicken.

Need a pic of her standing to view her shape and legs. Blues are quite common, she'll be fine outside in the heat as long as she has shade and cool, clean water. Most breeds of bantams are fairly good setters. So she will likely hatch them ok.

This is the best picture I have of her standing up, I'm in a heat streak right now where I live so other than putting ice cubes and fresh water in her coop I'm really trying not to disturb her too much.
